(Assistant) Underwriting Manager

Responsibilities Framework Development : Create and implement the underwriting and operational framework, along with corresponding policies and procedural guidelines. Monitoring Performance : Oversee the New Business and underwriting processes to ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) while maintaining high-quality standards. Underwriting Assessment : Conduct underwriting risk assessment for both life insurance cases within established approval limits. Collaboration : Work closely with team leaders across distribution channels to pinpoint areas for improvement. Compliance Review : Assess and verify customer due diligence, as well as Anti-Money Laundering, ensuring alignment with regulations and guidelines. Project Participation : Engage in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and contribute to ad-hoc projects as needed. Requirements Educational Background : Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably with professional qualifications in insurance (e.g., FLMI). Experience : At least 6 years of comprehensive experience in life and medical insurance underwriting, including a minimum of 2 years in a managerial capacity. Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; self-motivated and an effective team player. Relationship Management : Ability to cultivate positive business relationships with various channels, such as agencies, bancassurance, and brokers. Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, effective at all organizational levels. Adaptability : Capable of working under pressure and managing multiple tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Language Proficiency : Strong command of both written and spoken English and Chinese. Technical Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
