Join to apply for the Senior Lead Engineer / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer / Engineer, Nano-Photonic role at ASTRI - Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute Job Responsibilities Responsible for the design of both conventional optics and metaoptics used in consumer electronic devices and industrial equipment Perform detailed optical design, optimization, and fabrication tolerance analysis to ensure deliverables meet required specifications and deadlines Resolve technical challenges related to optics, technology research and development, and IP development of core technologies Evaluate the feasibility of potential projects based on customer specifications Assist in preparing project proposals, customer contracts, and related documentation Job Requirements Master’s or PhD degree in Optical Engineering, Applied Optics, Physics, or a related discipline Minimum of 5 years of academic experience or 2 years of industry experience in optics, such as imaging optical systems, non-imaging optical systems, or nano-optical design and production Solid understanding of fundamentals of nano-optics with a particular focus on metalenses Proficient in optical design software such as CODE V, LightTools, and RSoft Proficient in programming languages such as Python or MATLAB Familiarity with other commercial optical design software is a plus Experience in designing aspherical lenses for mobile devices is a plus Strong command of written and spoken English, with excellent communication skills Self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a team Live ASTRI values Application The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
