Assistant Computer Officer (AI Infrastructure Administrator) The CUHK Business School is a leading business school in Hong Kong, founded in 1963, with a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and over 5,000 students from more than 30 countries. The Information Technology Office (ITO) oversees IT infrastructures and offers services such as user support, cloud computing, network and systems operations. The School has recently established a communal Artificial Intelligence (AI) infrastructure and seeks an organised, innovative, fast‑mover to support its operation, management and administration. Responsibilities Operate, maintain and expand HPC clusters, compute nodes, storage and interconnects. Install, update and configure AI/HPC software stacks, libraries and dependencies. Enforce system security standards, manage user access and apply patches and hardening. Design, implement and test backup, recovery and disaster‑recovery procedures. Maintain and publish system documentation, user guides and operational procedures for in‑house training. Coordinate with vendors for procurement, system upgrades, maintenance and technical support. Assist with deployment of AI/ML models for inference in the School’s internal production environments. Provide technical support and coaching to stakeholders. Perform other duties, including administrative and financial matters, as assigned to support the AI infrastructure. Work flexible hours, including weekends, as required. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering or a related discipline. At least 3 years of post‑qualification work experience. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Relevant experience in Linux, HPC, server administration, GPU systems or cloud‑based HPC platforms (must). Hands‑on experience with cluster management, job schedulers such as Slurm and container technologies such as Docker and Singularity. Knowledge of network, storage and data security management. Strong troubleshooting, communication and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team. Prior experience in the tertiary education sector is an advantage.
