Platform Engineer, DevOps

Background My client is a market leading financial products platform in Asia, with 200+ commercial partners across Singapore, Hong Kong, Philippines, Taiwan, and Malaysia. They are now looking for an expertise Platform Engineer to play a pivotal role in shaping and managing the infrastructure that powers their services and applications. Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage scalable and secure AWS infrastructure, utilizing services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and VPCs. Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery capabilities are built into the infrastructure. Develop and maintain Terraform configurations to automate the provisioning and management of cloud resources, ensuring consistency, scalability, and repeatability across environments. Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines to automate the testing, deployment, and monitoring of applications. Integrate with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI to streamline development and deployment workflows. Manage and scale Kubernetes clusters for containerized applications. Oversee the deployment, scaling, and operation of Kubernetes workloads across multiple environments, ensuring applications are running efficiently and securely. Use ArgoCD to manage continuous delivery and GitOps workflows, ensuring seamless, automated application deployments and updates to Kubernetes clusters. Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting systems to track infrastructure health and application performance. Utilize tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or ELK Stack to provide visibility and identify potential issues before they impact the business. Implement cloud security best practices, manage IAM roles and policies, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Safeguard sensitive data through encryption and access controls. Work closely with development, DevOps, and operations teams to continuously improve infrastructure processes, performance, and automation. Identify opportunities for cost optimization and infrastructure scaling to meet changing business demands. Provide expert-level support and troubleshooting for infrastructure and cloud-related issues, ensuring fast resolution and minimal downtime. Requirements Capable in taking up as a solo contributor role with minimal supervision, confident in operating independently. Strong, solid and practical experience in Kubernetes, Networking, ArgoCD, and Terraform Ideally with 10+ years of relevant DevOps/Platform experience AND 5+ years of Direct Kubernetes design, setup, build and configuration experience Hands‑on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, etc.) and cloud infrastructure management. (MUST) ArgoCD (MUST) &/or other Kubernetes‑native continuous delivery tools and GitOps workflows. Experience with Azure and GCP is a plus Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform for provisioning and managing cloud resources. Solid experience managing Kubernetes clusters (EKS, self‑managed Kubernetes) and deploying containerized applications at scale. Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, etc.) and the automation of application deployment pipelines. Expertise in containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. Experience with infrastructure monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or similar observability platforms. Strong understanding of cloud security best practices, including IAM, VPC, and network security controls. Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly resolve complex infrastructure issues. Strong communication skills in Cantonese & English and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
