PLC Engineer

PLC Engineer (1 year contract) Hitachi Rail – Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Hybrid (Hong Kong, Hong Kong) About the Role Join a global organisation at the cutting‑edge of digital transformation and technology, working on legacy systems and innovative solutions. This role focuses on the design, coding, testing and deployment of PLC software and hardware for large‑scale projects. Responsibilities Write software requirements, design and coding according to specifications. Document and perform unit tests, ensuring software integrity and stability. Integrate and package software, and write release documentation following quality procedures. Support test and commissioning on site and address any PCRs raised. Design PLC hardware configuration and control communication networks. Test and verify PLC hardware functionality and network performance. Ensure compatibility of PLC hardware with software. Requirements Degree in Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or a related discipline. Experience programming automation and controls systems with PLCs is an advantage. Knowledge of PLC logic and programming (Allen‑Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Schneider) and ladder/structured text/functional block programming. Experience with logic auto‑generation from templates is a plus. Understanding of PLC hardware, station and tunnel environment systems, and ability to interpret electrical drawings. Quick learner who can work under pressure on live operating control systems. Good command of written and spoken English. Employment type Contract – 1 year, Hybrid (Hong Kong, Hong Kong) with a submitted salary package of 12,000 to 18,000 CNY. Seniority level Not applicable.
