Job Summary: The Derivatives Trading Operations Team is responsible for keeping the Hong Kong derivatives market open. With a broad range of contracts traded by many of the world’s most prominent institutions, our job is to keep the market operating in a transparent, fair and orderly fashion. Doing so requires a strong team of dedicated and talented professionals with quick thinking, excellent judgement and abilities to handle trading issues swiftly while operating within the rules and regulations that keep the market fair and orderly. With our ongoing major investment to revamp our trading platform, we have an exciting senior opportunity for the right individual to lead our day shift team, help shape the next generation trading platform and move our trading environment forward. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee daytime operations of the derivatives exchange ensuring seamless market functioning and prompt resolution of participant issues. Manage smooth production handover to the evening shift, maintaining operational continuity. Proactively manage operational risks. Work closely with second and third line of defense to identify and mitigate potential risks. Handle contingency in a timely manner, enforce proper escalation protocols, and act in accordance with established policies and procedures. Drive operational excellence by continuous improvement of our tools, processes, rules and policies. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders for the implementation of new products and strategic initiatives. Build and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence, engagement, and growth. Keep abreast of the latest international trends on trading mechanisms, trading technology and regulatory development related to derivatives market operations. Build strong relationships with relevant statutory bodies, industry associations and market participants. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or related disciplines; strong IT project experience an advantage. Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including at least 8 years at the management level of well-established financial institutions. Strong knowledge of derivatives products, market practices and regulations, and the trading platform; exposure to a variety of derivatives products and their trade life cycle and risk management an advantage. Strong interpersonal, communication and people management skills with proven ability to handle time-critical situations, multi-task and adapt effectively to changing priorities. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with fluency in English and Chinese; Putonghua proficiency is a plus.
