About Our Roles in Operational Risk Through measuring and managing operational risk across the firm, you will contribute to effective risk capital allocation and enforce the firm’s risk appetite. You will provide strategic business risk insights, adjust practices to reduce inherent risks, and become an in-depth risk expert across various businesses and operational risk aspects. Your Impact and Responsibilities The Operational Risk Department is responsible for developing frameworks to identify, measure, and monitor operational risks. This role is for a junior professional eager to expand expertise and actively contribute to the firm’s operational risk management framework. Facilitate operational risk event collection and review, track remediation, analyze trends, and report findings. Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts in Technology and Business to identify enhancements and assess processes and controls. Work with Business Continuity Coordinators across Asia to ensure compliance with firm and regulatory requirements. Engage with regulators on operational and technology risks and support governance frameworks. Exercise credible challenge as part of the second line of defense. Assess operational risks from new products, activities, migrations, etc. Stay current on business, regulatory, and industry changes, and identify emerging risks. Provide clear recommendations and guidance on operational risk matters. Work with senior stakeholders to strengthen risk frameworks. Conduct training and raise awareness of operational risk and business continuity programs. Monitor and analyze risk measures and contribute to advancing risk practices. Qualifications This role requires an energetic self-starter with experience in business, product, technology, or control environments, strong interpersonal and analytical skills, and the ability to liaise across teams and levels of management. Core Skills and Experience Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken). Understanding of risk management concepts, controls, policies, and procedures. Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills. Knowledge of Asian financial markets, products, and processes in investment banking. Understanding of regulatory environment and business continuity planning in Asia. Knowledge of technology risks, controls, information security, and cyber security. Experience with business continuity and technology resiliency frameworks. Strong technical and quantitative skills for operational risk assessment. Excellent communication skills to present risks and technical details effectively. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently, proactively, and as part of a team.
