The Engineering Manager leads and supports the software development team in building and implementing large-scale applications, ensuring quality, scalability, and alignment with business objectives. Acting as both a hands‑on technical specialist and a guiding leader, this role defines system behavior, establishes technical roadmaps, and manages development standards. Additionally, the Engineering Manager coordinates resources, oversees governance, and collaborates with stakeholders to deliver robust, innovative software solutions that drive organizational success. Responsibilities Lead software engineering teams onsite and offshore, ensuring delivery of business functionality and application quality. Provide guidance and oversee governance throughout development. Contribute to application design, own engineering documents, uphold development standards, and select appropriate tools for best results. Manage resources efficiently to meet project timelines and goals. Coordinate with vendors for smooth application implementation. Work closely with the product team to translate requirements into technical solutions. Supervise developers to ensure high-quality software aligned with architectural guidelines. Collaborate with Tech Leads and squad members to resolve technical issues and promote a supportive environment. Qualifications, Training and Experience Background in computer science, information systems or bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field. Insurance/Financial services background is preferred 7+ years of hands‑on, full‑stack development experience building high performance, scalable and reliable software applications. Solid experience in leading small to medium team of engineers in project delivery Experience in provisioning and maintaining cloud‑native application. Demonstrated experience developing REST based APIs using Open API Specification and/or creating specifications w/Swagger with API Gateway. Experience in configuring DevOps/continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Git, Azure DevOps. Deep understanding of application & database design models, and application performance optimization. Good knowledge in containerizing applications using Docker & Kubernetes Experience with secure SDLC and application security & compliance.
