Product Design Manager/Consultant/Project Based Position Summary Our client is a leading global pet care brand seeking a creative and strategic Product Design Manager to join the dynamic team. This role is central to the development of the new product lines, focusing on creating innovative, trend‑led pet products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the EU/UK consumer markets, aesthetic preferences, and lifestyle trends. You will work in close partnership with the Product Manager to lead projects from concept to production, ensuring our designs resonate profoundly with our target audience and uphold our brand's promise of quality and innovation. Key Responsibilities Design Leadership & Strategy: Lead the design vision and strategy for new product projects, ensuring they are aligned with market needs and business objectives. Market Insight: Apply a strong understanding of EU/UK market trends, consumer behaviors, and cultural nuances to inform design decisions and create commercially successful products. Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work hand‑in‑hand with the Product Manager, as well as with trend analysing, sourcing, and development teams in HK & HQ to ensure design feasibility, cost‑effectiveness, and timely execution. End‑to‑End Project Management: Manage the entire design process for multiple projects simultaneously, from initial research, concept sketching, and prototyping to final production hand‑off and quality control. Supplier Liaison: Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure design integrity, material quality, and high standards of craftsmanship are maintained throughout production. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in product design, experience working for overseas markets is a must. A proven portfolio demonstrating successful product launches, preferably for the European and/or UK markets. Significant experience living and working in or directly with the EU/UK markets is highly preferred. Strong technical knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and prototyping. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with fluency in English. Proficiency in German or other European languages is a significant advantage.
