Major Duties and Responsibilities Supporting the team in conducting literature reviews related to sound studies, music archaeology, and immersive audio research. Collecting and organizing data, including field recordings, archival materials, and audio documentation for analysis. Assisting the Principal Investigator/supervisors in the preparation, coordination, and execution of research studies and artistic experiments. Participating in the design, implementation, and documentation of sound-based research and artistic outputs. Assisting in the planning and organization of related workshops, symposia, and performances. Preparing materials for publications, exhibitions, and other research outcome deliverables. Undertaking other ad‑hoc research and administrative activities as instructed by the Principal Investigator. Candidates A Master’s degree or above in music, sound art, creative media or any related discipline (for Temporary Research Assistant I); A Bachelor’s degree in music technology, sound design, media art, or related discipline (for Temporary Research Assistant II); Strong ability and knowledge in music composition, sound design, spatial audio, or audio programming. Preferred understanding of acoustic ecology, sound archaeology, and art‑technology integration. Candidates who have the intention to pursue a research postgraduate degree are preferred. Proven record in academic paper publication or presentation at conferences and/or journals in the field of music, sound, or media art. Experience in digital audio workstations (e.g. Pro Tools, Ableton Live, Reaper, Max/MSP) or sound analysis tools. Strong organisational and planning skills, good interpersonal and communication skills, and proficiency in computer applications (MS Office, document editing, etc.). Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently under tight deadlines. Professional communication skills for handling correspondence, coordination, and documentation. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese. Terms and Conditions for Appointment Successful candidate will be appointed on a temporary full-time contract.
