Finance Specialist — Excel Dataset Creation

Role Overview Mercor is partnering with a cutting-edge AI research initiative to generate high-quality Excel-based training data for financial modeling. We’re seeking experienced finance specialists with deep Excel expertise to help synthesize realistic, structurally complex spreadsheets across key financial domains. This short-term, project-based engagement offers a unique opportunity to contribute domain knowledge to frontier model development. Key Responsibilities Design and write detailed prompts for generating complex financial Excel models Review and refine AI-generated spreadsheets for structural integrity and formula accuracy Ensure financial logic, dynamic formulas, and input-calculation separation are correctly implemented Create models across topics such as 3-statement projections, DCFs, cap tables, and LBOs Deliver fully functional, formula-dense Excel files that meet rigorous quality standards You will be given access to State-of-the-Art AI Agent that help you created advanced excels Ideal Qualifications 3+ years of experience in finance, investment banking, or Private Equity Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, financial modeling, and spreadsheet architecture Familiarity with advanced financial modeling concepts (e.g., DCF, cash flow forecasting, capital structuring) Meticulous attention to detail and ability to verify mathematical and structural accuracy Experience creating or auditing Excel models used in professional settings More About the Opportunity Remote and asynchronous — contributors set their own schedule Expected time commitment: ~10h/week Project duration: 1 week (with possibility for extension) Target volume: 20 unique, high-complexity Excel files in 1 week.
