Senior Investigation Officer(Property)

The Senior Investigation Officer, reporting to the Manager of Internal Audit, will be instrumental in business assurance, which includes irregularity prevention, detection and investigation. He / she will be scrutinizing assigned cases, detecting misconduct, investigating various risk behaviors such as fraud, phishing, account theft, etc., and providing insightful recommendations. The proficiency in financial reporting and auditing for comprehensive evaluations of financial statements is preferrable. What you will? Assist in providing training across departments about the potential risks and red flags in real estate transactions and operations. Keep abreast of emerging trends and threats in real estate fraud and adapt investigation strategies accordingly. Handle any ad-hoc projects if necessary. Proactively detect potential irregularities by reviewing system flows and business assurance procedures. Oversee the cases reviews and liaise with auditors/entities to gather relevant information. Continuously monitor user behavior, analyze risk data and write investigation reports on identified risk control cases. Maintain a risk case database and summarize behavioral characteristics. Discover data anomalies timely through risk management and real-time monitoring and synchronize with relevant departments to prevent losses. Support Financial / Operational audit teams to perform special audit aspects of the business units / projects. Fraud investigation: Investigate irregular behaviors such as fraud, phishing, account theft, etc. Examine suspected fraudulent activities related to property transactions, land acquisitions, and real estate development projects. Collaborate with the legal team to handle cases related to property disputes, contract breaches, or fraudulent transactions. Analyze the collected information to detect misconduct, such as irregularities in practice or profession, and identify non-compliance with group policies. Prepare quality reports and documentation concerning the identification and mitigation of risks identified. Follow up on recommendations, validate remedial work, performed post-review, document, and close issues. Perform special reviews requested by the Board, ACGC, or Senior Management. What will make you success? Degree holder preferably in law, finance, accounting, or related disciplines. Professional qualifications such as Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification or equivalent designation. 3 years+ of AML / anti-fraud related experience, preferably in fraud. Experience in working in large corporations, either sizeable HK private companies, listed companies, MNCs or regulatory authorities. Experience in risk appraisal and management techniques. Excellent communication and reporting skills in: Verbal: English and Mandarian Strong analytical skills and experience in using data analytics tools and techniques to manipulate data and to compile detailed reports. High energy level and strong work ethic with a commitment to continuous improvement in a dynamic and changing environment, striving to exceed expectations. Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. Working independently, receiving day-to-day instructions, with general guidance on assignments. Ability to create and maintain good working relationships with teammates and all levels of staff members from various business units. Willingness to travel.
