Location: Hong Kong Work Type : Permanent / Full-time On behalf of our client, a leading Hong Kong organization with one of the largest and most complex IT environments in the region, Pinpoint Asia is seeking a top-tier technical expert in data resilience. This is not a standard operations or BAU (Business-As-Usual) role. We are looking for the ultimate technical authority for storage and backup. Your primary mission is to architect, build, and automate the critical "what if" scenarios. You will be the senior expert who designs the resilience and contingency plans that bridge the on-premise and cloud worlds. If you are the person who can answer—and then build the solution for—"What happens if our cloud migration fails halfway?" or "How do we guarantee data recovery between two entirely different systems?" then we want to talk to you. What You Will Do This is a hands‑on, project‑focused role where you will be the senior‑most subject matter expert. Architect & Design: Lead the design of enterprise‑grade storage (SAN, NAS, Object) and backup solutions that span a massive hybrid‑cloud environment. Build the "Plan B": Design, build, and test complex data recovery, migration, and contingency plans. You will be the bridge ensuring data is protected as it moves between on‑prem and cloud. Automate Everything: Develop and own the automation strategy for storage and backup. You will be hands‑on with PowerShell and BASH to automate recovery workflows, provisioning, and system administration. Be the Expert: Act as the internal consultant and governance lead for all storage and backup technologies. You will evaluate new solutions, set standards, and advise stakeholders (from governance boards to cloud engineers) on best practices. Optimize & Troubleshoot: Go beyond daily monitoring. You will be the final escalation point for complex performance issues and will be responsible for optimizing the entire infrastructure for resilience and speed. Who We Are Looking For The hiring manager is looking for a true technical expert with a "tick box" depth of knowledge across a specific, modern tech stack. We need a candidate who has gone deep into both on‑premise and cloud systems. Must‑Have Technical Experience Enterprise Storage (6+ Years): Deep, hands‑on architecture and administration experience with enterprise‑grade SAN storage. You must have strong, demonstrable experience with Dell EMC, HPE, and/or NetApp . Enterprise Backup (6+ Years): Proven expertise building and managing complex backup solutions, specifically Networker and Veeam . Hybrid‑Cloud: Verifiable experience with hybrid‑cloud environments. You must understand how to integrate on‑prem infrastructure with major cloud providers (Azure, AWS, etc.) and manage data protection across them. Automation & Scripting: Excellent, practical knowledge of scripting languages for automation, specifically PowerShell and BASH . Core Infrastructure: Strong foundation in Linux administration and virtualization. About You Enterprise Exposure: You must come from a "sizable company." You thrive in large‑scale, complex environments and understand the governance and challenges that come with them. Independent & Hands‑on: You are not just a manager. You are a "do‑er" who can work independently, architect a solution, and then configure it yourself. Excellent Communicator: You must have strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical risks and solutions to stakeholders. Language: Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin) proficiency is a high priority. However, expert candidates who are English‑only speakers will also be strongly considered.
