About the Job Contract Type: Perm Focus: Quality Assurance Workplace Type: On-site Experience Level: Associate Location: Hong Kong Salary: Negotiable Responsibilities Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of quality assurance strategies for both front‑end and back‑end systems to ensure alignment with architectural principles and industry best practices. Define and enforce comprehensive quality standards covering functional requirements as well as non‑functional aspects such as performance, stability, and security across multiple platforms including desktop, mobile, and tablet. Champion automation by identifying innovative solutions and leveraging modern tools—including AI‑driven approaches—to streamline testing processes and enhance overall efficiency. Oversee test planning activities, execution phases, and defect management processes to guarantee timely delivery of high‑quality solutions that align with established project milestones. Collaborate proactively with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Development teams (both local and remote), and maritime subject matter experts to ensure QA considerations are integrated throughout every stage of the project lifecycle. Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by clearly communicating quality metrics, risks, recommendations, and actionable insights in a manner tailored to diverse audiences inside and outside IT. Mentor junior QA engineers by sharing best practices, tools, methodologies, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and technical excellence within the IT team. Promote collaboration across cross‑functional teams to deliver robust solutions that are scalable, user‑centric, and responsive to operational needs. Support external development teams by providing guidance on QA processes and helping resolve technical challenges related to quality assurance. Drive initiatives aimed at elevating the overall quality capability within the organisation through training sessions, workshops, or process improvements. Qualifications Demonstrated commitment to quality through hands‑on manual testing for both functional and non‑functional requirements across multiple device form factors including desktop computers, mobile phones, and tablets. Proven track record in automation testing using frameworks such as Playwright, Robot Framework or Selenium WebDriver to increase coverage and efficiency. Practical experience conducting performance testing using industry‑standard tools like Apache JMeter to identify bottlenecks and optimise system responsiveness. Ability to write complex SQL queries for databases such as PostgresSQL, Oracle or MariaDB supporting thorough data validation during QA cycles. Skilled in implementing application performance monitoring & debugging tools including ElasticSearch, Prometheus New Relic or Firebase for proactive issue detection. Effective communication skills in English enabling clear interaction with stakeholders outside IT as well as internal colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Thorough understanding of QA concepts/tools such as Docker containers CI/CD pipelines Jenkins (desirable) enhancing automation capabilities within agile environments. Experience mentoring other QA engineers promoting continuous improvement technical excellence (desirable) through structured feedback sessions or informal coaching.
