Overview The Office of the Chief Information Officer ( provides quality services to support all central information systems in support of teaching, learning, research and administration and places emphasis on staff’s career/professional development. The Office is looking for quality professionals to fill the post. Responsibilities System and database administration for In-House Database, JBOSS, TOMCAT, and Oracle Access Management (OAM) and Oracle Internet Directory (OID). System and database administration for the Oracle Database Guard (DR Solution). Project coordination and technical support for the implementation of database security and monitoring systems. Exadata DB Migration & Upgrade for DEV, UAT, and PROD. Deploying applications via Jenkins and running SQL commands as requested by development teams. Cloud service administration (such as AWS, Azure, or Alibaba Cloud), including provisioning, monitoring, and optimizing cloud resources for scalability and reliability. Containerization and Kubernetes (K8s) management, including deploying, scaling, and maintaining applications in containerized environments. DevOps operations such as implementing automation for deployment, monitoring, and incident response, and collaborating with development teams to ensure CI/CD pipeline efficiency and system reliability. Qualifications A recognized Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Engineering, or related disciplines. Strong technical skills in Oracle Database, OAM, OID, JBOSS, TOMCAT, system programming, and server administration. Preferably six years of experience in Oracle Database support. Those with less but preferably three years of experience may be considered for the post of Assistant IT Manager. Experience with cloud service platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or GCP), containerization (Docker), and Kubernetes would be an advantage. Experience in application server administration and Oracle Access Management System would be an advantage. Familiarity with DevOps operations, automation tools, and CI/CD pipelines. Good problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in English and Chinese. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work proactively and independently, and be a good team player. Additional Information Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 10% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits.
