Playgroup Teacher The role of the Playgroup Teacher for children (6 months – 2 years) is essentially to build and maintain a successful Playgroup programme by providing an educational atmosphere conducive to learning and developing through the process of play‑based learning. Working hours (subject to the arrangement of school): Sat: 9:00 am – 12:30 pm Responsibilities Support in designing and preparing challenging, innovative, interactive and exciting experiences for children in the various Playgroup ages which are age appropriate and will enable them to flourish and achieve their potential; Design, prepare and deliver lessons to suit the individual needs of all children using a range and balance of teaching strategies; Promote the enjoyment of learning; Ensure the classroom and school environment are well‑managed, inviting, organised and neatly presented; Nurture meaningful relationships with children and their families and provide the individual attention they need; Communicate accurately, regularly and meaningfully with families of children in their care. Requirements A university degree and a recognised qualification (such as PGCE) in Early Childhood Education; Child Care Worker Certification; Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in Early Years education; Experience in working with children 6 months to 2 years; Previous international experience highly valued; Knowledge/Experience of Reggio Emilia Approach is advantageous; Holder of Full Working Rights in Hong Kong. About the school Malvern College Pre‑school Hong Kong (MCPS) offers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. MCPS operates from two sites, at Coronation Circle in Kowloon which opened in September 2017 and in Island West on Hong Kong Island which opened in August 2019. We aim at preparing pupils for a smooth transition into full‑time primary education.
