Electrical Engineering Design Manager

Electrical Engineering Design Manager (Bank) What this job involves: Lead the electrical design function across assigned projects, ensuring technical excellence, compliance with codes and standards, and alignment with client and business objectives. Oversee consultants and contractors, manage design deliverables from concept through construction, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams including architecture, mechanical, sustainability, and project management. Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications, and BIM models for technical accuracy and completeness. Assist in planning appropriate levels of design management resources. Manage the project brief and approval process in conjunction with the Project Manager and the client approval process. Notify and liaise with the APAC Head of Projects, Head of Engineering, and other senior management regarding any escalated project issues. Notify the project team where design issues may impact overall cost management. Manage documentation and sign‑offs, ensuring full auditing of the design management process. Provide consultative support to other business groups on engineering requirements. Drive continuous improvement in design processes, tools, and engineering standards, including adoption of digital engineering and automation technologies. Review and technically analyse relevant new product innovations. Regularly liaise with the global engineering team on global initiatives, benchmarking projects and design processes. Required Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent. Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical engineering design for building systems; at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role is preferred. Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and large‑scale commercial or institutional projects. In‑depth knowledge of electrical distribution systems, lighting design, codes and standards, and construction documentation. Proficiency with design and analysis software and BIM workflows. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment. Experience with sustainable design, LEED, Fitwel, or similar certification processes is a plus. Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites or client offices as needed.
