(Assistant/Senior) Building Services Inspector

(Assistant/Senior) Building Services Inspector (CE/BSI) Be responsible to the Supervisor or his delegates for the supervision of the construction works and carry out duties of a Contractor Employed Building Services Inspector team as detailed in the Site Administration Handbook published by ArchSD. Manage and monitor the site activities conforming to the Client's Requirements, ArchSD's General Specifications, the Site Administration Handbook and other documents as specified by the Project Manager or his delegates. Travel to Mainland China is needed (fabrication of MiC unit and pre-cast element outside Hong Kong). Key Responsibilities Supervise the site activities, ensuring compliance with client requirements and specifications. Identify and immediately report any errors or discrepancies found among the documents. Maintain and update the filing systems as required by the Project Manager and his delegates. Check and report material and equipment compliance against contract requirements and acceptance on delivery to site. Inspect and report the installed works on workmanship, drawing approvals, installation requirements and maintain the site inspection records. Check and update the daily labour strength in relation to BS/EM works and report immediately any deficiency. Ensure compliance with the Construction Site Safety Manual and relevant statutory parties. Monitor and report immediately any unavailable technical approvals, including drawings before inspections of works to be covered up. Maintain and update records and summary in the format required by the Project Manager, including material and equipment checking, works inspection, abortive works, compensation events, test and system performance commissioning. Provide Site Progress Reports for Site Progress and BS/EM Coordination Meetings. Take site photos of progress of works installation, defective works and non-compliance. Witness and report the acceptance of all specified tests and system performance commissioning, maintaining the site test records. Provide and update a list of outstanding and defective works. Monitor and report progress of defect rectification and completion of outstanding/additional works, including testing and commissioning. Check the readiness of BS/EM works operation and maintenance manuals and as-fitted drawings submitted by the Contractor, Specialist Subcontractors and other Subcontractors. Arrange and attend pre-handover and handover inspections with relevant parties per Project Manager directions. Carry out any inspection works, prepare site records and reports, witness any testing and commissioning works as required by the Supervisor and his delegates. Return all site records and files as required by the Project Manager and his delegates. Attend Site Audit Checking and follow up action on correction action and non-conformity. Assist in the site checking of measurements of BS/EM works and payments claimed by the Contractor. Assist in the site survey of existing BS/EM installations during construction, including submission of proposals for additional, alteration or repair works. Construction Stage Supervise on-site and off-site BS/EM works. Monitor labour resources, progress, materials and equipment used on site. Identify and immediately report any errors or discrepancies among the documents. Maintain and update filing systems as required by the Project Manager. Check material and equipment compliance against contract requirements and acceptances on delivery to site; also check delivered & installed materials & equipment and maintain site check records. Inspect and report installed works on workmanship, drawing approvals, installation requirements and maintain site inspection records. Check and update daily labour strength in relation to BS/EM works, including random compliance checks of registered skilled & semi-skilled workers, and report deficiencies. Check requirements under ‘Construction Site Safety Manual’ and ensure compliance with relevant statutory parties. Monitor and report any unavailable technical approvals, including drawings before inspections of works to be covered up. Maintain and update records and summary per format required by Project Manager, covering material and equipment checking, work inspection, abortive works, compensation events and test & system performance commissioning. Provide Site Progress Reports for Site Progress Meetings and BS/EM Coordination Meetings. Take site photos on progress of works installation and highlight defective work and non-compliance. Witness and report acceptance of all specified tests, system performance commissioning and maintain site test records. Provide and update list of outstanding and defective works. Requirements Diploma or Higher Certificate in Building Services Engineering or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering. Have met the language proficiency requirements of Level 2* or above in English Language and Chinese Language in Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) / Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE), or equivalent. Twelve (12) years relevant experience including four years working experience in the capacity of Building Services Inspector, or equivalent. Candidate with less experience will be considered as Assistant Building Services Inspector. Candidate with more experience will be considered as Senior Building Services Inspector.
