Term / Part-time (Daytime) Assistant Lecturer

Hong Kong Institute of Information Technology Department / Section: Department of Media Technology Specialisms: Information and Communications Technology Multimedia and Entertainment Technology Major Duties Perform teaching duties and assist in supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement. Assist in carrying out duties in relation to student and academic administration. Assist in developing programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials. Participate in departmental projects and functions, including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. Requirements A recognised degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Multimedia, Digital Media, Games and Animation or equivalent, preferably with a post‑graduate qualification. For Information and Communications Technology: Proficiency required in at least one of: Programming (Java, Python, C# or C++), Web Design and Development, Server Application Development; Network Technology. Holder of CCNA / CCNP certification preferred. Preferably with knowledge and experience in Artificial Intelligence application development, web application development, software development on multiplatform and/or design and implementation of computer networks. For Multimedia and Entertainment Technology: Knowledge and/or solid experience in at least one: Game Level Design, Interactive Multimedia Applications Development, VR / AR Application Development, Mobile Application/Game Development, UI Design, Generative AI, MCP Application, C++ and/or C# Programming, Game Development, 3D Animation Development, Stage Management, Sound System and Design, Video System and Design, Lighting System and Design, Live Streaming with multicamera setup, Metaverse Technology, Immersive Experience Design. Preferably experience using at least one of: Unity3D, Unreal, Blender, ComfyUI, Pro Tools, Adobe CC (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, After Effects), 3Ds Max, Resolume Arena, Processing and/or Maya. Good communication and presentation skills in both English and Chinese. Good records of linkage with industry/professional bodies or solid industry experience an advantage. Preferred Putonghua proficiency: Mother tongue / language is Putonghua; or Received a bachelor’s degree or above of which the medium of instruction is Putonghua; or Have at least 3 years’ work experience in Mainland or other Putonghua speaking countries or regions; or Attainment of Grade 3B or above at the Putonghua Shuiping Ceshi (PSC). Preference for experience in teaching senior secondary students, particularly with background in vocational programmes. Notes Post is at rank of Teaching Associate.
