Senior Manager/Manager I, Technology Delivery Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute (ASTRI) was founded by the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 2000 with the mission of enhancing Hong Kong’s competitiveness through applied research. ASTRI’s core research and development is organized around five technology divisions: Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Communications Technologies, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Intelligent Perception and Control Technologies. Job Responsibilities Business development and technology delivery to customers. Develop a thorough understanding of ASTRI’s capabilities and innovations to identify opportunities with prospective clients, qualify leads, and close deals. Devise and execute sales strategies to secure new business, including high‑level sales calls, aggressive networking, and marketing activities, underpinned by competitive analysis and compelling presentations and proposals at client meetings. Identify industry or government pain points and explore how ASTRI’s capabilities and IP can lead to new R&D projects that provide solutions to prospective clients. Facilitate licensing and commercialization by engaging system integrators in the ecosystem. Leverage existing connections to develop and grow the client base for the technology division. Work closely with internal teams and external partners to strategise and build pipelines of collaboration projects, including working with researchers to initiate research projects. Maintain specifications and functional integrity of interim and final deliverables to clients. Serve as the interface between researchers and clients to anticipate and mitigate potential risks throughout the project life cycle. Participate in the preparation and follow‑up of relevant projects, where appropriate. Job Requirements Master’s degree or above with a minimum of 7 years of experience in sales, marketing, business development, or R&D within the technology sector. An engineering or science background will be a plus. Candidates with less experience may be considered for a managerial position. Experience in sales and business development with a track record of building and growing customer bases. Strong sales, pitching and stakeholder management skills are required. Good understanding of emerging technology areas such as AI, data analytics, blockchain, cybersecurity and privacy protection. Interest in technologies with strong business acumen and a strategic mindset. Independent self‑starter with a sales‑oriented, meticulous personality, an aggressive work attitude and a strong desire to succeed. Good command of English and Chinese; fluent Putonghua is a plus. Technical background, along with sales experience, is preferred. Experience working on or with research projects preferred. Experience in FinTech, Smart City, Metaverse or Digital Health is a plus.
