We operate from Cyberport Tsuen Wan Office, a fast-growing hub for innovative technology and AI research teams. We are seeking a highly capable AI Systems Engineer to join our core engineering team and lead the development, deployment, and optimization of production-grade AI systems. In this role, you will work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, large-scale data systems, and real-world commercial applications. You will be responsible for building and operating AI models that can be deployed locally on servers for production use, rather than relying solely on third-party cloud APIs. You will collaborate closely with data engineers, system engineers, and product teams to design end-to-end AI solutions — from model selection and training to infrastructure deployment and ongoing optimization. A deep understanding of mainstream AI models and their practical limitations in production environments is essential. This position is ideal for engineers with hands-on industry experience in AI or robotics, strong theoretical foundations, and a clear understanding of how AI technologies are applied in real commercial scenarios. Responsibilities Design, develop, deploy, and maintain production-ready AI models on self-managed servers or private infrastructure. Work with mainstream AI models and frameworks (e.g. large language models, computer vision models, multimodal models), demonstrating deep understanding of their architectures, strengths, and trade-offs. Build end-to-end AI pipelines, including data preparation, model training or fine-tuning, inference services, and monitoring. Collaborate with data engineering teams to integrate AI models with large-scale data pipelines and analytics systems. Optimize AI systems for performance, stability, scalability, and cost efficiency in real production environments. Participate in system-level design, including model serving, GPU/CPU resource management, and infrastructure planning. Translate business and product requirements into practical AI solutions that deliver measurable commercial value. Stay up to date with advances in AI research and industry trends, and evaluate their applicability to NDATA’s products. Qualifications Hong Kong permanent resident or legally eligible to work in Hong Kong. Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a closely related field, obtained from a top-tier university. Industry experience in AI or robotics, with demonstrated involvement in real-world AI systems beyond academic projects. Deep understanding of mainstream AI models, including their theoretical foundations and production-level implementation considerations. Proven ability to deploy and operate local AI models on servers for stable, production use. Strong programming skills in Python and/or Golang. Familiarity with AI frameworks and toolchains (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow, model-serving frameworks). Solid foundation in computer systems, networking, and APIs. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail. Effective communication skills in English and Chinese. Experience working in Agile development environments is required.
