Overview Join to apply for the IT Specialist role at Centre for Oncology and Immunology . The appointee will commence as soon as possible on a fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. The role is based in Hong Kong Science and Technology Park. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day end-user technical support (software and hardware) to researchers and admin staff of the R&D Centre, deliver IT technical and audio-visual support for Centre events (familiar with video conferencing solutions such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom), assist with management and maintenance of the Centre’s network infrastructure and servers, and help implement internal data security policies to enhance cyber security. Other responsibilities include administering anti-virus control, providing emergency security operations support, carrying out hardware/software deployments and upgrades, maintaining IT equipment inventories, liaising with external vendors, managing the website and in-house web applications, and delivering IT trainings and inductions to Centre staff. The appointee shall work in Hong Kong and report according to the organisation’s IT governance and security policies. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day end-user technical support (software and hardware) to researchers and administrative staff. Offer IT technical and audio-visual support for Centre events; manage video conference solutions (Microsoft Teams and Zoom). Assist with the management and maintenance of network infrastructure and computer servers. Implement internal data security policies to enhance cyber security. Administer anti-virus controls on all computer hardware. Provide emergency support in relation to security operations. Perform hardware and software deployments and upgrades. Maintain up-to-date inventory records for IT-related equipment. Liaise with external vendors to procure IT products, services, and solutions. Manage the Centre’s website and in-house web applications. Provide in-house IT trainings and inductions to Centre staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications And Skills A bachelor’s degree or above, preferably with Information Technology background and System Information knowledge. Hands-on experience in Windows and Linux server administration and operations, data centre infrastructure setup, cyber security, or PC and software configuration. Experience in infrastructure management: installation, configuration, maintenance, and upgrade of Linux servers, computers, printers, and other IT equipment. Working knowledge of MS Windows, cloud platforms, and M365 (including MS Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive). Basic programming knowledge in Python, HTML, CSS, Java or JavaScript is an asset. High-calibre fresh graduates with a passion for learning new technologies are welcome to apply. Good written and spoken English, strong communication, teamwork, self-motivation, organization, attention to detail, and willingness to learn new techniques. Ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
