Secondary Science and Mathematics Teacher (Part Time / Supply Teacher) Saint Too Bloom Academy is a new secondary school in Hong Kong dedicated to innovation, entrepreneurship, and bilingual education. Designed by a team of passionate educators, engineers, and entrepreneurs, our mission is to prepare young people to thrive in a rapidly changing world. Since the establishment of our sister school, Bloom KKCA Academy, in 2021, we have pioneered bilingual, interdisciplinary, and project‑based learning, forming partnerships across education, business, and social innovation sectors. In 2024, we expanded to our secondary campus, offering Cambridge IGCSE and A‑Level programs alongside a school‑based Key Stage 3 curriculum. We have since launched two additional pathways—the HKDSE and a US‑accredited project‑based pathway to serve diverse learners. Position Overview We are seeking a dynamic, motivated, and skilled Science and Mathematics Teacher to educate our students in these subject areas. The teacher will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging lessons aligned with the school’s curriculum standards, promoting critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, and fostering a passion for learning in Science and Mathematics. Successful candidates will demonstrate proven teaching ability and be able to act as a pedagogical leader as the program expands. Key Responsibilities Teach Science and Mathematics to students in Grades 7–9, including IGCSE and A‑Level (CIE and Edexcel), ensuring alignment with international standards. Design and deliver developmentally appropriate, engaging lessons that differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students. Integrate hands‑on learning and experimentation through our Makerspace, encouraging students to apply scientific concepts through building, prototyping, and inquiry‑based projects. Collaborate with the STEAM Advisor and the broader interdisciplinary team to connect science learning with real‑world application. Plan, teach, and coordinate STEAM Studio classes that explore career pathways and industry‑based applications of science through project‑based learning and partnerships. Provide clear instruction and supervision for safe and effective laboratory experiments and scientific investigations. Contribute to the ongoing development of the G7–G9 science and math curriculum, including unit design, assessments, scope and sequence documentation, and resource development. Use both formative and summative assessments to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly to enhance learning outcomes. Maintain accurate documentation of learning using approved curriculum templates and contribute to student portfolios. Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Science, Mathematics, Education, or related disciplines. Minimum three (3) years of successful classroom (or similar) teaching experience. Recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Teaching License). Fluency in English and Mandarin (spoken and written). Commitment to student wellbeing and inclusive education. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and collaboration within a school environment. Demonstrated academic excellence. Satisfactory criminal background check. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Science, Mathematics, Education, or related disciplines. Experience working with secondary students from Mainland China. Strong familiarity with educational technology. Commitment to continuous professional development. Collaborative, positive, and inclusive approach – we strongly value harmony among staff.
