Staff Engineer – Chemical Development

The Chemical Process Development team is seeking chemistry professionals to lead the development, characterization, analysis, and qualification of new chemicals and materials for leadframe manufacturing, including etching, plating, and surface treatments. The candidate will also be responsible for supervising daily laboratory operations and preparing standard operating procedures. Major Responsibilities Collaborate with process development team to develop new process recipes or improve existing to support new product development and enhance manufacturing capability. Through the use of advanced analytical instruments (e.g., SEM-EDX, XRF, GC-MS, HPLC, NMR, FTIR, ICP-MS, etc.) to perform chemical composition analysis to facilitate production process control, product quality assurance and troubleshooting. Collaboration with Purchasing and QA teams on sourcing, evaluation and qualification of new chemicals, materials and suppliers. Collaboration with QA and engineering teams on failure analysis and troubleshooting. Daily laboratory management work. Conduct internal training. Technical report writing. Requirements M.Phil. or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a highly related field. A minimum of 5 years’ chemical engineering related working experience, semiconductor industry is preferred. Deep understanding of organic, inorganic, and polymer chemistry. Experienced in operating and interpreting data from a wide range of analytical instruments (C-MS, HPLC, NMR, ICP-OES/MS, etc.). Chemical laboratory management experience is preferred. Fluent in Chinese and English, Malay is preferred. Frequent travel is expected. Working Location Primary in Shenzhen; frequent travel to Chuzhou (Anhui, China) and Malaysia is expected.
