PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The primary objective of the role is to develop the company’s strategic plan and achieve the company mid to long-term financial profit targets by leading and developing an organization of business and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Leads, directs and controls the activities of all the operations of the organisation to achieve its short and long-term financial and operating objectives as set by the overall corporate business plan.
  • Establishes and oversees budgets, plans, policies, and programmes that will effectively implement the business strategies and objectives.
  • Sets and monitors the performance of the Company against standards and targets in areas such as operational and administration efficiency, cost control, sales revenue, legal compliance, and human resource management.
  • Monitors the Company’s competitive environment to identify business threats and opportunities and develop business plans to address them.
  • Leads, directs, evaluates and develops a team of managers to ensure that the Company’s business strategy is implemented effectively, consistently and according to established guidelines and budgets.
  • Executes strategic planning in financial, operational and market development, ensuring achievement of the agreed and set sales revenue targets.
  • Focuses on growth strategies and profitability by driving sustainable profit levels and increasing overall competitive advantage of the Company.
  • Ensures effective communication at all levels within the Company through employee engagement activities such as regular employee meetings, management meetings, and Company newsletters.
  • Creates synergies across functions and businesses within the country to achieve operational excellence. Collaborates with the Management team to formulate strategies and tactics focusing on market penetration, effective pricing, and achievement of overall goals, while ensuring effective planning of resources for the delivery of these goals.
  • Handles coaching, counseling, and disciplining managers; communicates values, strategies, and objectives; assigns accountabilities; plans, monitors, and appraises job results; develops incentives; and fosters a climate for offering information and opinions.
  • Develops strong ties with key customers and key accounts and proactively understands the trends and issues likely to impact the market.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or a related field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales/marketing leadership position with a strong history of interaction and leadership at a multidisciplinary level.
  • Strong knowledge about the importance of all other functional areas and their value to the business, as well as experience working in the medical device industry in a diversity of worldwide markets.
  • Experienced in project management & implementation.
  • Proven organizational design and process skills and successful in dynamically managing a sales and marketing organization, optimizing market conditions, serving new types of customers, and supporting and servicing new product types.
  • Strong written and verbal skills in Chinese and English.
  • Ability to analyze a highly segmented complex market to develop a powerful value proposition.
  • High level of energy and passion to achieve buy-in from all BIOTRONIK staff and drive timely execution.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity, and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals across the regions.
  • Strong technical knowledge related to medical device product development as well as clinical knowledge related to device usage.
  • Experience with cardiology products is an added advantage.
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time.
