Postdoctoral Fellow X) The Department of Social Work invites applications for the position of Postdoctoral Fellow, who will support implementation of “Professional Development for Social Welfare Sector,” a project initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The Project aims to conduct a longitudinal evaluation for the Jockey Club (JC) Inno Power Social Welfare Fellowship. It has the following specific goals: (1) to develop and validate the Hong Kong Benchmarks for Career and Life Development (HKBM (Generic)), a talent development benchmark tailored for aspiring social welfare leaders participating in the JC Inno Power Fellowship; (2) to deliver comprehensive training programs to equip aspiring JC Inno Power Fellows with the necessary skills and knowledge utilising the HKBM (Generic) and relevant best practices; (3) to evaluate the paradigm shift within the social welfare sector in terms of fostering innovation at work, multi‑factor leadership, self‑efficacy, compassion, transformative learning, sense of community, adaptive capacity for organisational resilience, and program sustainability; and (4) to conduct an in‑depth investigation into the implementation process of the project, examining JC Inno Power Fellows' practical lessons learned from their experiences, as well as the benefits gained by all relevant stakeholders. Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in Computational Social Science, Statistics, or a related discipline; and (ii) the following attributes: Values: Believing in the values of creating social good and social innovation; having commitment to promote talent development; and embracing teamwork and collaboration; Attitudes: Being open‑minded and motivated to learn; and enjoying working with people from all walks of life; Skills: With an excellent command of English and Chinese; strong organisational and interpersonal communication skills to cooperate and communicate with different parties; a high sense of responsibility; and the ability to work independently and under pressure; Knowledge: With thorough understanding on talent development/research methodology. The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator and Co‑Principal Investigator. He/She will be responsible for: coordinating various research tasks, including development of the data management system, conducting surveys of beneficiaries of JC Inno Power Social Welfare Fellowship, and data processing and analysis of the whole project; generating ongoing project statistics for reference by the funder, research team, and strategic partners; administering the project and managing the budget; liaising with the funder, strategic partners, and community; organising conferences; developing, pilot‑testing, and validating outcome/impact indicators; compiling interim and final project reports; drafting research manuscripts for presentation/publication in conferences/journals; performing other tasks as assigned. Appointment will be made on a contract basis for up to twenty months with an end date of October 3, 2027.
