Role Overview The Technical Documentation Manager will lead a team of technical writers and quality control experts, oversee documentation projects to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and operational excellence to drive team performance and achieve organizational objectives. Key Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & People Management Provide strategic direction and leadership to the technical writing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Empower and motivate team members through trust‑based leadership, coaching, and professional development initiatives. Define clear performance expectations, roles, and responsibilities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvement plans where necessary. Drive team engagement through effective communication, conflict resolution, and recognition programs. Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members, ensuring smooth integration and skill development. Promote innovation, knowledge‑sharing, and risk‑taking to enhance team capabilities and output quality. Operational & Project Management Develop and implement strategies to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and maintain high‑quality standards across all documentation projects. Collaborate with Coordination Team Leaders to meet project profitability targets and ensure timely delivery of deliverables. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to maintain compliance and client satisfaction. Continuously monitor weekly planning sessions with cross‑functional teams to align priorities and resolve bottlenecks. Ensure adherence to industry standards (EN, IEC, UL) and company guidelines in all documentation outputs. Key Competencies Leadership & Team Development: Ability to inspire, mentor, and build high‑performing teams. Strategic Thinking: Skilled in setting long‑term goals and aligning team objectives with organizational strategy. Stakeholder Management: Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with internal and external stakeholders. Decision‑Making & Problem‑Solving: Ability to make data‑driven decisions and resolve complex challenges effectively. Project Management Expertise: Proficient in planning, resource allocation, and risk management. Technical Proficiency: Understanding of technical writing standards, tools, and compliance requirements. Qualifications At least 5 years experience as a technical writer with at least 3 years at managerial level. University degree in Engineering, Translation, Technical Writing, Technical Studies, Communication, Technical Journalism, Business Management or related fields. Near native English. Logical thinking and analytical mind are a must. Experience with EN, IEC and/or UL safety standards is a must. Experience in using Adobe Suite (INDD and AI) will be an advantage.
