Senior Software Engineer (ASP.net) (1 year contract to extend) We are looking for a seasoned Senior Software Engineer to execute a critical migration project for a legacy web application. The successful candidate will take ownership of transferring the application from its current environment to a new, secure, and up-to-date platform. This role requires a deep technical skillset in legacy Microsoft technologies, a strong security mindset, and the ability to plan and execute complex technical tasks. Key Responsibilities Application Migration: Lead the end-to-end migration of the web application's source code to a new server, ensuring full functionality on modern versions of IIS, the Windows Operating System, and MS SQL Server. Security Remediation: Identify, analyze, and fix security vulnerabilities uncovered by automated scanning tools (e.g., code scans, web application scans). Prioritize and resolve all issues of medium severity or higher. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with the IT Cybersecurity Team and the Project Team to present security findings, propose robust solutions, and gain formal acceptance for the proposed remediation approaches. Technical Analysis & Planning: Conduct a thorough analysis of the existing codebase and security scan results to create a comprehensive work plan. This plan will outline the effort, timeline, and methodology for code remediation and will be finalized in conjunction with the project team. Required Skills & Qualifications 6-10 years of professional experience in web application development and maintenance. Expert-level knowledge and hands‑on experience with Classic ASP, ASP.net, IIS, and MS SQL Server. Demonstrable experience in application migration projects, particularly involving legacy systems and platform upgrades. Strong proficiency in identifying and resolving web application security vulnerabilities (e.g., SQL Injection, XSS, CSRF). Experience with security scanning tools and interpreting their reports. Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
