About the job Senior Analyst, Special Situations Our client, a multi-strategy hedge fund, is seeking a Senior Analyst, Special Situations to join their dynamic investment team. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a top-tier team, contributing to investment decisions. Role Summary As a Senior Analyst Special Situations, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and capitalizing on unique investment opportunities arising from corporate events, distressed situations, and other non-traditional scenarios. Your insights and recommendations will directly impact the funds performance. The ideal candidate should have a passion for excellence, strong analytical skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment. Responsibilities Conduct in-depth research on corporate events such as mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, bankruptcies, and restructurings. Evaluate the impact of these events on companies valuations, capital structures, and potential catalysts. Identify mispriced securities and arbitrage opportunities resulting from special situations. Analyze distressed debt instruments, including bonds, loans, and other credit securities. Assess the financial health of distressed companies, their restructuring plans, and recovery prospects. Collaborate with legal and financial advisors to navigate complex bankruptcy proceedings. Evaluate risk-adjusted returns from pending mergers and acquisitions. Build financial models to assess various scenarios underpinning special situations. Present investment recommendations to senior management and the investment committee. Qualifications University graduate in Economics, Finance, Business, or related fields. 3+ years of research experience in hedge funds, investment banking, distressed debt, or special situations. Proficiency in financial modeling, valuation techniques, and statistical analysis. Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
