Why We Need Your Guidance Offer high‑level counsel on patent strategy, portfolio development and risk management Assess and resolve subject‑matter eligibility issues under U.S. §101, Chinese and other patent laws Review and guide patent prosecution to ensure robust protection aligned with commercial and social objectives Provide perspective on licensing, trade secrets and broader IP considerations Collaborate with innovators and technical teams to identify valuable inventions and maximize IP potential Oversee external counsel and maintain global compliance standards Help navigate emerging technologies and international IP landscapes What We’re Looking For Patent attorney qualification (U.S., China or Europe) and substantial practice experience in these jurisdictions (prosecution and strategy) 7+ years of experience in patent law, ideally with exposure to complex technologies or emerging innovation areas Hands‑on experience prosecuting patents involving abstract ideas or mathematical algorithms Ability to understand technical concepts, preferably with mathematics or engineering exposure Strong communication and advisory skills; proven influence on senior stakeholders Familiarity with international patent systems and cross‑border IP issues Premium: U.S. or Chinese patent attorney; JD or equivalent (not required) Nice to have: IP negotiations, licensing, open source, freedom‑to‑operate analysis experience Why Step Forward?
