More information about the Faculty can be found at The Position We now invite applications for appointment as Tenure‑Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Library and Information Sciences in the Faculty of Education. Duties and Responsibilities The appointee will teach courses offered in undergraduate and postgraduate programmes related to information technology and education, social data science, and library and information management. He/She will also supervise research postgraduate students, contribute actively to research and knowledge exchange, and assume service/administrative responsibilities as appropriate. Those appointed at the senior level will also lead collaborative and interdisciplinary initiatives in research and knowledge exchange, mentor and nurture the next generation of scholars and researchers, and assume high‑level service/administrative responsibilities. Qualifications Applicants should possess (i) a Ph.D. degree in Library and Information Sciences or a closely related field; (ii) teaching and research experience in any relevant specialism of information retrieval, data science, learning sciences and technologies, application of artificial intelligence, learning analytics, user‑centered system design, and/or information resources and services; and (iii) a proven track record in, or strong potential for, research, scholarly publications and competitive external funding. An understanding of library and information sciences as they relate to education, knowledge of the local context, and leadership in curriculum/research would be strong advantages. What We Offer The appointment will be made on fixed‑term full‑time contract for 3 years initially, to commence on August 1, 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of the second three‑year fixed‑term contract. Exceptionally outstanding candidates at Professor/Associate Professor level may be considered for appointment on tenure terms subject to approval. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract‑end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
