Part-time Lecturer – School of Arts and Social Sciences Founded in 1989, Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU) is a modern, vibrant and dynamic university offering professional programmes adapted to market trends and industry needs. Major Duties and Responsibilities Conduct lectures and tutorials. Write lecture notes, design and mark assignments/examination scripts. Perform other related teaching and administrative duties. Qualifications and Competence CHIN 2007ACF / CHIN A206CF ‑ Practical Life Cantonese Applicants must hold a master’s or higher degree in Chinese Language and Literature, Linguistics or related subjects. Prior teaching experience is preferred. CHIN 2008ACF ‑ Advanced Practical Cantonese Applicants must hold a master’s or higher degree in Chinese Language and Literature, Linguistics or related subjects. Prior teaching experience is preferred. CHIN 8108ACF / CHIN A808CF ‑ Writer’s Lecture Selection Applicants must hold a master’s or higher degree in Chinese Language and Literature or related subjects. Prior teaching experience is preferred. GAPG 8004AEF ‑ Society and Culture in the Era of Globalization Applicants should possess a higher degree, preferably a doctorate, in Politics or a related discipline. Teaching/professional experience at the tertiary level is advantageous. Duration of Appointment The appointment will require evening or Saturday/Sunday on‑campus work from January 2026 to June 2026, for a maximum of 17 hours per week. Terms and Conditions for Appointment Successful candidates will be appointed on a temporary part‑time contract. Benefits will be provided in accordance with statutory provisions.
