Raw Materials Specialist - Fabric and Trims Add expected salary to your profile for insights Our client is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Raw Materials Specialist to support the development of high‑quality fabric and trims products, from concept to production and vendor management. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring product quality, price, lead time, and sustainability goals are met for the brand. What you'll be doing Cross‑Functional Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between HQ Fabric, Trims, Compliance, and local Production and Logistics teams to ensure seamless communication and timely execution across all phases. End‑to‑End Product Development: Manage the full fabric & trims development lifecycle—from concept and prototyping to SMS and bulk production—supporting the merchandising team throughout. Innovation & Research: Conduct in‑depth research on raw materials, fabric and trims to drive innovation, enhance product quality, and support the creation of forward‑thinking collections. Vendor Management: Identify and evaluate new vendor opportunities, allocate developments to nominated suppliers, and maintain strong relationships to expand product offerings. Pricing & Compliance: Negotiate competitive pricing and terms with vendors while ensuring alignment with company standards and sustainability goals. Testing & Quality Enhancement: Oversee product functionality testing and implement improvements based on performance feedback to ensure optimal product quality. Sample & Delivery Oversight: Coordinate SMS deliveries and maintain close collaboration with the HQ design team to meet development timelines and expectations. Data & System Management: Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date fabric & trims data in the PLM system and internal library, ensuring accessibility and consistency for the wider team. Perform additional tasks as assigned by management. What we're looking for Diploma and above academic qualifications in Fashion Apparel Studies, Textile & Clothing, Merchandising or a related discipline. 2‑5 years solid working experience in fabric & trims development, technical or merchandising role within the fashion and apparel industry. Excellent understanding of fabric and trims construction, manufacturing techniques and packaging; in‑house brands experience is an advantage. Strong ability to interpret tech packs and 2D product graphics files. Proficiency in PLM, Microsoft Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; hands‑on experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with knowledge of 3D software considered a plus. Outstanding negotiation and procurement skills to secure the best deals from suppliers. Good working attitude, self‑motivated, organized and strong attention to details, maintaining professionalism while working independently and collaboratively across teams. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with all parties and foster strong relationships. Fluent command of written and spoken Cantonese, English and Mandarin. Willing to travel internationally, including visits to Headquarters, regional offices, suppliers, mills and vendors (if applicable).
