EPD Project Manager

A) PROJECT MANAGER Requirements: A Bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, in subject relevant to science, engineering, environmental management and technology, or equivalent Minimum five (5) years’ relevant full-time post-qualification working experience in waste reduction, waste management and assessment, waste recovery/recycling, waste facilities management and recycling contract management, among which at least four (4) years working experience in customer service/waste recycling complaint and enquiry handling, and with a minimum two (2) years working experience in handling branding matters and managing contracts on waste recovery/recycling, as well as minimum one (1) year working experience at supervisory level Have met the language proficiency requirement of “Level 3” (See Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note: “Grade C” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth) Have good command of written English and Chinese, fluent spoken English and Cantonese and proficiency in Putonghua Have good data analysis, project coordination and presentation skills Have good interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation and ability to work independently Preferably have knowledge and experience in computer applications (e.g. word processing in Chinese and English, spreadsheet and presentation software, etc.) Duties: To manage the contract and monitor the operation of the facilities, including monitoring contractors’ compliance with contract requirements and vetting submissions of the facility operators To perform a supervisory role in site inspections to the facilities, and their related events/activities for compliance check To provide input in responding to public enquiries and complaints concerning community recycling network To prepare and manage the contracts of facilities enhancement for community recycling network To prepare and update papers, information notes, guidelines, presentation decks and other necessary materials in relation to the community recycling network To prepare the branding and publicity materials in promoting the community recycling network To liaise with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to different Government departments, contractors and property management office when managing the contracts To supervise, train and coach new staff of the team for supporting daily operations and various initiatives of the facilities To perform any other duties assigned as appropriate Requirements: (i) A Hong Kong First or Second Class honour degree, or equivalent, in a relevant science or engineering subject (ii) At least 9 years of relevant full-time post-qualification working experience (iii) At least 6 years of working experience in customer services, including food waste recycling complaint and enquiry handling (iv) At least 4 years of working experience in the Government in the fields of food waste reduction, food waste recovery, food waste recycling facilities, food waste pre-treatment facilities management and food waste recycling contract management or other related domains (v) At least 2 years of working experience at a supervisory level overseeing a territory-wide food waste recycling project(s) including liaison with relevant parties and monitoring on the performance of the food waste recycling / pre-treatment facilities (vi) Good English and Chinese writing skills, fluency in spoken English and Cantonese and proficiency in Putonghua (vii) Sound knowledge of Government procedures and requirements for procurement and funding schemes (viii) Good data analysis, project coordination and presentation skills Duties: (i) Managing consultancy studies and trial projects on standalone on-site food waste treatment/pre-treatment systems, including formulating strategies, assessing cost- effectiveness and resolving logistical and environmental issues (ii) Exploring and liaising with suppliers of the latest food waste treatment/pre-treatment technologies and supporting non-governmental organizations in conducting demonstrations and trials across various premises (iii) Managing service contracts for food waste treatment/pre-treatment systems in government, commercial and residential settings (iv) Assessing environmental funding applications for projects related to on-site food waste treatment/pre-treatment or other food waste-related initiatives (v) Coordinating and maintaining close communication with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to residents / management offices of participating premises, Government Departments, and site users, to ensure seamless execution of all necessary works in order to achieve the goal set in the Policy Address (vi) Handling enquiries and complaints regarding on-site food waste treatment/pre-treatment facilities (vii) Preparing and updating various documents, including papers, information notes, publications, guidelines, presentation materials, and other necessary items related to food waste management (viii) Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor Interested parties, please send your resume in WORD format, stating HKCEE / DSE / CRE result, current salary, expected salary and availability by clicking Apply Now.
