Operations Specialist

Flow Traders is looking for an experienced Operations Specialist to join our growing Operations team in Hong Kong. If you aim high, the sky is the limit The role directly supports our traders by managing daily position and P&L reconciliations, facilitating ETF creation/redemption processes, and executing various other controls that have a direct impact on trading activities. Our Operations team is renowned for its deep expertise in processes unique to our trading operations and plays an important role in assessing and implementing workflows required for new business opportunities in the APAC region. In addition to overseeing operational tasks throughout the entire trade lifecycle, we’re looking for a candidate with experience in process improvement and automation, with the capability to design and implement innovative standard operating procedures. As a member of the broader Risk Management and Operations (RMO) team, you will also have the opportunity to broaden your expertise and gain exposure within risk management, enhancing your professional growth and development. What You Will Do Oversee daily trade bookings, position and P&L reconciliations, settlement challenges, and corporate action events Ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports on trades, positions, cash holdings, costs, and P&L attribution Coordinate and manage all operational aspects throughout the trade lifecycle, from initiation to settlement Collaborate closely with counterparties, custodians, and prime brokers to on‑board new businesses and address daily issues Identify and drive process improvement initiatives, focusing on increasing operational efficiency and scalability. Design and implement automated solutions using that streamline workflows using best practices in data management and automation, using VBA, SQL and Python. Effectively document all improvements and solutions, ensuring clear communication and knowledge transfer within the team. What You Need to Succeed 3 to 5 years of Mid‑office/Operations experience, preferably from a buy‑side environment (Hedge funds, Prop Trading) or Prime brokerage Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, or a related field Solid product knowledge in listed equities, ETFs, derivatives, and FX Familiarity with Asian securities markets and their respective regulations is preferred Proficient in Excel, with practical experience in VBA, SQL, and Python Demonstrated experience in process improvements and designing automated solutions, ideally within a trading environment Excellent problem‑solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing areas for improvement Strong communication skills, with the ability to document and explain technical solutions to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders A proactive, assertive, and flexible personality Flow Traders does not accept unsolicited resumes from any professional staffing or search firms.
