Head of Technology Innovation - Financial Institution Company overview. This leading Financial Institution is looking for seasoned innovation technology solution talent who experienced and visionary to head the Technology Innovation team and drive digital transformation across the financial services landscape. This role is pivotal in identifying, evaluating, and implementing innovative technologies—including emerging FinTech and RegTech solutions—to deliver exceptional customer experiences, operational efficiency, and business growth. You will be leading a team of 25+ reporting to the CIO. Great work-life balance and working culture are provided. Job scope. Develop and execute forward-thinking technology strategies aligned with business goals; champion innovation through research, trend analysis, and exploration of emerging tech (e.g. Generative AI, Blockchain, APIs). Identify and onboard relevant FinTech/RegTech solutions; lead PoCs, vendor assessments, and system implementations across cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure, Alibaba MPaaS). Oversee design and deployment of next-gen digital banking platforms (e.g. mobile apps, customer engagement hubs) with scalable, secure architecture. Collaborate with regulatory bodies (e.g. HKMA) to align innovation initiatives with compliance requirements and industry guidelines. Engage with senior leaders and business units to prioritize initiatives, secure buy-in, and foster a culture of continuous innovation and cross-functional collaboration. Build and mentor a high-performing innovation team; establish frameworks for agile delivery, digital maturity assessment, and change enablement. Requirements. Over 10 years of experience in Financial Services or FinTech solution development, of which at least 8 years at managerial position in IT innovation and Transformation roles Proven track record of leading innovation initiatives within financial services or a FinTech environment. Deep understanding of cloud technologies, enterprise architecture, and emerging technologies (e.g. AI/ML, APIs, blockchain, cloud-based application). Experience engaging with C-level stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and external tech partners. Strong strategic thinking, business acumen, and ability to translate tech trends into actionable business value. Familiarity with frameworks like Agile, DevOps, Six Sigma, and Design Thinking. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Exposure to digital banking platforms, payment systems, and core banking modernization Project management certifications (e.g. PMP, Scrum Master) and cloud credentials (e.g. AWS, Azure) Fluency in English and Chinese (written and spoken); proficiency in Mandarin is highly desirable.
