The HR Associate will primarily serve as an HR Business Partner (HRBP) for back-office functions, delivering strategic advice and operational support. This role will also assist with Hong Kong HR operations, compliance, and recruitment, with minor support for China HR processes to ensure seamless cross-border coordination. A prominent international financial institution in Hong Kong is seeking a proactive HR Associate to join their HR team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to act as a strategic HR Business Partner to dedicated back-office departments while providing operational support, with secondary involvement in China HR operations, in a fast-paced banking environment. Description Act as the dedicated HRBP for back-office departments providing strategic guidance on employee relations, performance management, talent development, and workforce planning. Support Hong Kong HR operations, including payroll coordination, employee lifecycle administration, and backup for the HK payroll specialist. Lead recruitment processes for assigned departments, including job briefing, candidate sourcing, driving searches, interviewing, and offer management to meet hiring timelines. Support HKMA mandatory reference checks and compliance initiatives, conducting gap analysis, reviewing procedures/policies, and offering insights to maintain regulatory alignment. Provide occasional support for China HR operations, including drafting payroll reports for senior approval and coordinating with local teams on data updates. Assist with ad hoc HR projects, reporting, and process improvements to enhance HR efficiency across functions. Profile Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 6 years of HR experience, with strong emphasis on HR business partnering and operational support in a banking or financial services environment. Proven expertise in employee relations, performance management, and recruitment. Solid knowledge of Hong Kong HR practices (payroll, employment laws); basic understanding of China HR operations is sufficient. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders and build relationships with business leaders. Fluency in English and Cantonese; proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage for occasional China coordination. Proficient in HRIS systems, payroll software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage priorities in a dynamic setting. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
