Electrical Engineer, Data Centre

Monitor and analyze the overall operation status of the data center through the DCIM/BMS/SCADA system, respond to the alarms triggered by the data center systems 24/7 and coordinate the team members to conduct on‑site diagnosis and analysis of the alarms. As the on‑site commander in case of emergency, coordinate and command the resources within the team to perform emergency recovery operations according to the EOP document. Create a knowledge base document for on‑site fault diagnosis and maintenance of the data center and assist in continuous optimization. Job Responsibilities Formulation of Electrical Operation and Maintenance Plans: Develop annual preventive maintenance plans for power systems, drill plans, and personnel training plans. Personnel Training: Conduct training on power system knowledge and operations for operations personnel, and perform assessments and reviews of the training effectiveness. Electrical Facility Operations: Lead maintenance engineers in conducting planned preventive maintenance on power system equipment; review power distribution work order applications for server cabinets. Fault Handling: Manage power system faults to minimize impact on operations, ensure reliable system operation, and regularly analyze and address safety/stability issues in daily power system operations. Operation Optimization: Plan and implement optimization of the data center power distribution system for energy saving and emission reduction. Responsible for the availability and continuity of the data center power distribution service indicators. Responsible for the service recovery of each system in the data center within the specified SLA time limit. Responsible for responding and diagnosing the monitoring alarms or event ticket of each system in the data center within the specified time limit. Ensure that the quality of various services provided by the team (such as inspection/fault diagnosis/emergency drills) meets the quality requirements in the SOW. Liaise closely with facility managers, contractors, and suppliers to coordinate resources and resolve on‑site issues. Maintain accurate facility technical records (equipment manuals, maintenance logs, inspection reports) in both Chinese and English, ensuring compliance with audit requirements. Develop and update facility maintenance plans, optimizing procedures to enhance equipment reliability and service life. Job Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline. More than 4 years of experience in data center facility operation and maintenance management, and more than 6 years of experience in Electrical system maintenance and management. Ability to diagnose faults in data center Electrical systems; familiar with data center power distribution systems, generator systems, and UPS system operation and maintenance. Hold Registering Electrical Worker (B/C/H). Familiarity with EMSD and FSD inspection processes and legal requirements, with experience in handling government approvals is a plus. Solid knowledge of electrical systems, proficient in the operation principles and maintenance standards of power distribution. Ability to read technical drawings (CAD plans), equipment manuals, and bilingual technical documents. Familiar with office software. Possess high‑voltage and low‑voltage maintenance experience, capable of handling common faults and operations. Strong problem‑solving and on‑site adaptability, capable of independently diagnosing equipment faults and developing repair plans. Fluent in Cantonese and English (spoken and written), able to communicate technical details and prepare bilingual reports.
