The Mathematics Teacher is a caring, skillful and energetic teacher who is confident when working with students from Years 7 to 13 with a range of learning and behavioural needs. This person is aware and judicious in relation to the complexities of providing for the well‑being of secondary aged learners. The candidate will: Teaching Model a genuine curiosity about the mathematical world in a way that excites, engages and resonates with adolescents Provide frequent, authentic opportunities to conduct hands‑on mathematical explorations and experiential learning both inside and outside the classroom Plan and teach Year 7 to 9 Mathematics, Year 10 and 11 IGCSE Mathematics and Year 12 and 13 IBDP Mathematics courses Develop, share and make use of relevant teaching plans and teaching materials Complete all paperwork required for taught classes in a timely manner, including any relevant reports and assessments Participate in and contribute to departmental and, where appropriate, schoolwide curriculum and professional development Promote professional dialogue, share ideas about teaching and learning and support other teachers in developing good practice and new approaches and initiatives Attend and contribute to parent‑teacher consultations. Lead and participate in Deep Learning and Deep Learning+ week (see website for details) Lead and participate in school activities and the coaching of sports teams Attend and contribute to ongoing professional development Act as a Form Tutor. Requirements Bachelor degree in Mathematics or a related subject A relevant teaching qualification Good understanding of the IGCSE and IBDP curricula. Experience in teaching Mathematics at IGCSE and IB levels. Native English speaker with experience in an international school is highly preferred.
