Job Title: Department: Group IT Primary Location: Office/Site Type: Full Time Working Hours: Mon - Fri Reporting to: Group IT Manager Role Purpose: As part of the Group IT team, primary support of the HIS Asia Business Unit with arms‑length support across the Hargreaves group of companies to ensure that reliable, responsive, and cost‑effective IT infrastructure solutions are provided and maintained. Working in conjunction with the IT Infrastructure team managing and assisting, primarily in supporting the Asia aspects of the Wide Area Network (WAN). Provide technical resource and, as part of the Business Support and Infrastructure teams, play an active part in delivering IT solutions across business projects. Necessary skills for the role: Required Bi‑lingual: English, Cantonese; Desired: Malay Strong background (5+ years) within both IT Technical and business support environments, as part of a team delivering group‑wide strategic IT solutions. Suitably qualified with an IT‑related qualification. Desired areas are Infrastructure, networking, and business support/helpdesk duties. Experienced in all aspects of IT infrastructure, servers, firewall, support, and networks, boasting 5+ years in these areas. Good broad understanding of standard infrastructure technologies, across storage and servers, networks, security, and end‑user computing. Share knowledge and experience with peers. Hands‑on approach required. Self‑motivated with excellent work ethic. Good team player. Enthusiastic, energetic, and positive approach to business requests, problems, and challenges. Technical Areas, skills, and competencies to include the following: Office 365 Active Directory Windows Servers/Hyper‑V Microsoft Exchange Microsoft SQL Microsoft SharePoint and Teams Microsoft OneDrive AWS Dropbox CCTV Solutions Technical knowledge on the following Hardware/Software/Portals: FortiGate Firewalls DarkTrace Arctic Wolf Zscaler Cisco Routers and ASA Veeam Backups Aruba Switches and Wireless Access Points Cat5e/6 cabling Network Standards in Cabling Impact and Key Deliverables: The post holder will be a member of the Group IT team, reporting to the Group IT Manager An active team member, albeit at arms‑length, supporting and delivering the IT strategy, providing a secure, resilient network infrastructure, and cost‑effectively delivering the annual IT objectives The post holder will be required to establish strong working relationships with members of the wider IT team, most notably the Group IT Manager, and appropriate site contacts throughout the Asia business The post holder will be required to support the day‑to‑day operation of the IT function, support both business unit and functional teams in enhancing end‑user experience and support all projects that assist in driving and delivering improvement, efficiencies and cost effectiveness across the group The post holder will assist with supporting the “up‑time” of the Wide Area Network The post holder will assist with the integration of company acquisitions as well as provide support for other infrastructure and network‑related tasks Provide Infrastructure and Technical support, and business software support, primarily to the Asia Business unit, with arms‑length support of other Business Units within the Hargreaves group of companies The role requires an IT technical individual who directly supports the wider Group IT team, in delivering a global, resilient, secure, Wide Area Network Part of a team of Regional IT Infrastructure engineers covering all Asia / UK sites, ensuring all group‑wide sites are duly supported as and when appropriate. Travel to and stopovers in Asia will be required to assist with operational requirements. Travel to the UK may also be required Review and assess end‑user technical requirements and ensure traceability through to system delivery and end‑user / customer acceptance Maintain an emphasis on communication, planning and managing change. This requires extensive stakeholder engagement, communication of planning and progress, and ensuring quality in user acceptance testing, end‑user training, and change management procedures Assesses all infrastructure hardware, associated equipment and connectivity performance, highlighting issues, reviewing the maintenance, and monitoring of the Hargreaves Cloud and hardware estate Provides technical feedback and updates to assist with the monitoring and reporting against the Risk Universe Register for all IT‑related functions Impact and Key Deliverables: Will assume responsibility for and delivery of IT Infrastructure and technical‑related projects feeding back to the Infrastructure team Will assume responsibility for supporting the delivery of Asia Business Software and Application projects, as agreed with the Asia Business Management team Promote safe working at all times Deliver service improvement programmes, capacity, availability, and performance against service requirements across Asia sites, including network monitoring, hardware, and communications performance Provide input and technical assistance on on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud computing services Maintains established service level agreements to manage customer expectations and quality standards; identifies opportunities for improvement Monitor, assess and manage hardware estate primarily within the Asia Business Unit, supporting where appropriate, across the group Operate within the Hargreaves IT Business Support Helpdesk, delivering against agreed internal and external KPI’s and SLA, communicating with end users, and enhancing the end user experience Build, maintain and support laptops and other associated hardware, in conjunction with the standard IT image, including all core security and system‑related applications Assist with and provide input to maintain and continually develop infrastructure procedures and controls to cover all aspects of our global network platform, with modifications and version updates to provide group‑wide standard operating procedures (SOPs) and departmental operating procedures (DOPs) Essential personal attributes and behavioural traits the individual must possess.
