Director, Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence

We are seeking an experienced leader to take up the role of Director of Institute for Medical Advancement and Clinical Excellence (IMACE). Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of Hong Kong Academy of Medicine, the Director will be responsible for ensuring the functions of IMACE are delivered / objectives of IMACE are met, overseeing the operations of the Institute and communicating with key stakeholders in the healthcare profession and community to enhance healthcare standards in Hong Kong. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in clinical excellence, healthcare management, and / or evidence-based medicine.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of proposals, policies and guidelines to achieve the missions and goals of IMACE.
  • Oversee the Institute’s daily operations, ensuring good governance, efficient and effective functioning of the Secretariat.
  • Lead to facilitate the prioritization, formulation and dissemination of evidence-based clinical guidelines / protocols, service quality and efficiency standards for the sector.
  • Collaborate with different internal and external stakeholders to drive the Institute’s mission forward and advocate public engagement for building public awareness and understanding of the protocols promulgated by IMACE.
  • Work closely with and provide support to the relevant staff of the main Secretariat of the Academy and undertake any other duties commensurate with the position as assigned by the Academy.

Requirements:

  • University graduate. MBBS / MBChB or equivalent is preferred but not a must. A higher degree in healthcare management or public health would be an advantage.
  • Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in healthcare setting / academic institution or public body, including at least 5 years in a senior management or leadership role with medical / clinical exposure, healthcare administration, or a related field.
  • Substantial knowledge in clinical guideline development, evidence-based medicine, or healthcare quality assurance.
  • Solid experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Hong Kong’s healthcare system and regulatory environment would be needed.
