Museum Trainee (Conservation), M+ Museum Join M+ Museum, part of the West Kowloon Cultural District Authority, as a Museum Trainee (Conservation). M+ is dedicated to collecting, exhibiting, and interpreting visual art, design, architecture, and Hong Kong visual culture of the twentieth and twenty‑first centuries, and is one of the world’s leading museums of modern and contemporary visual culture. The 24‑month Museum Trainee Programme is designed to nurture museum professionals in Hong Kong, providing on‑the‑job training in museum conservation under professional guidance. The programme allows trainees to gain experience in affiliated museums and offices, learning venue management, conservation, collection management, and the organization of a variety of programmes such as exhibitions and education programmes. Responsibilities Train at designated museums or offices in venue management, conservation, collection management, and programme organization. Work 44 hours per week, with possible irregular hours, weekends, or public holidays. Qualifications Permanent resident of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of appointment, unless otherwise specified. Hold a bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong or an equivalent, majoring in Conservation, Applied Chemistry/Chemistry, Materials Science, Materials Engineering, or a related field. Meet the language proficiency requirements: Level 2 in the Use of English (UE) paper and Level 1 in the Use of Chinese (UC) paper of the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent as detailed in the notes. Notes Applicants must clearly state the major(s) of their bachelor degrees; failure to do so will render the application unsuccessful. Applicants whose degrees do not meet the requirement listed in (a) may apply if they expect to obtain the required qualification by the 2023/24 academic year. Successful candidates must produce original transcripts, certificates, and CRE results for verification. Level 4 in Chinese Language of the HKDSEE (or equivalent) is accepted as Level 1 in the UC paper of the CRE. Level 5 or above in English Language of the HKDSEE (or equivalent) is accepted as Level 2 in the UE paper of the CRE. IELTS scores of 6.5 or above (overall) with no subtest below 6.0 within the last two years are also accepted. Terms of Appointment Successful applicants will be appointed on a non‑renewable 24‑month contract on Non‑civil Service Contract Terms. Museum Trainees are subject to the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485). Application Process Submit a detailed CV and application by 29‑12‑2025.
