Senior Investment Analyst/Sub-PM, L/S Equities, Top Hedge Fund Our Client is a leading multi-strategy hedge fund with a flagship Asia Long/Short Equities platform based in Hong Kong/Singapore. The team runs a high-conviction, concentrated book with disciplined net exposure and a relentless focus on idiosyncratic, catalyst-driven alpha derived from deep fundamental research . The platform is in growth mode , actively expanding headcount across three specialist verticals: Technology - global mandate (semiconductors, software, internet, fintech) Consumer - Asia regional (Staples & Discretionary, retail, e-commerce, travel) Industrials - Asia regional (capex cycle, logistics, autos, renewables) The Role Reporting to the Sector Head and collaborating closely with the Asia Lead PM, you will be a core idea generator and execution owner with Sub-PM responsibilities and a clear path to full portfolio management. Key Responsibilities Own high-conviction positions from pitch to exit - full accountability for modeling, sizing, and risk. Conduct proprietary, bottom-up research : financial modeling, forensic analysis, channel checks, and supplier/buyer networks. Develop variant perception on catalysts 6-18 months ahead of consensus (earnings, M&A, policy, supply chain). Contribute to portfolio construction , pair trades, and sector hedging. Step in as acting Sub-PM during Head's absence; mentor junior talent. Strongly open to long-only analysts or PMs with elite bottom-up fundamental skill , proven stock-picking edge, and intellectual curiosity to transition into L/S. Your Profile 6-10 years of buyside equity research experience - L/S hedge fund, long-only fundamental boutique, or proprietary desk. Deep coverage in Asia ex-Japan; global Tech experience welcomed for the Tech team. Demonstrated alpha: Long-only: Top-quartile stock selection (via attribution). L/S: Strong risk-adjusted returns on meaningful idea sizes. Technical toolkit: Advanced Excel / Python / SQL, forensic accounting, channel-check discipline.
