This hybrid role blends wine expertise with operational leadership. We are looking for individuals truly passionate about wine and eager to learn. You will be working alongside our wine director to learn about wine, our curated wine list & gain valuable experience in becoming a professional sommelier. Intensive training will be offered. Beginners in the industry are welcome to apply as long as you are willing to learn and enjoy speaking to customers. Qualifications & experience 2 years of experience in sommelier work, wine service, or assistant management within a bar/restaurant setting. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a can-do attitude Extensive knowledge on wines, wine regions and varietals Passion for wine culture and guest interaction. Strong communication and leadership skills; able to manage busy late-night environments. Ability to work during evening and weekend hours according to our opening schedule. Good command of spoken & written English. Cantonese & Mandarin would be a plus Tasks & responsibilities Create and update wine lists in coordination the Managing Director Oversee daily FOH operations and uphold Silène’s high hospitality standards. Train and support junior staff in wine knowledge and service standards. Assist the General Manager in the floor operations Guide guests through the wine list, provide thoughtful recommendations, and deliver exceptional wine-focused service. Assist with inventory management, wine list curation, and supplier coordination.
