Senior Specialist, Implementation Engineering Checkout.com is looking for a dynamic and proactive Implementation Engineer to provide merchants and business partners with world-class technical support during implementation. The core purpose is to reduce friction in the integration process to achieve a successful and efficient integration. You will play a critical role in maintaining the trust of customers, ensuring that technical queries arising during the implementation are answered and escalated when required. Working directly with customer technical teams to resolve issues, you will collaborate with internal stakeholders across Technology and Business to contribute to Checkout.com’s position as a leading online payment solutions provider. The ideal candidate must be customer-driven, tech-savvy, with proven problem-solving abilities and eager to join a dynamic, agile, and fast-growing environment. How You’ll Make An Impact Provide technical support to merchants during their implementation of Checkout.com payment processing technology Answer all merchants’ integration related questions, including configuration, debugging, documentation, testing, go-live support, and post-live support Collaborate with internal teams such as Sales Engineer, Technical Account Manager, Merchant Configuration, Sales, Account Managers, and Merchant Care to resolve issues during customer trials, integrations, or post-implementation support Interact with Product teams to pinpoint improvement ideas Advise Manager on issues which impact customer satisfaction and provide recommendations for appropriate actions Ability to multitask with multiple projects and integrations of customers Maintain/update existing libraries/plugins used in integrations About You 3 years of development or technical support experience in a Tech/FinTech company Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) is desirable or equivalent practical experience in internet technologies and technical processes Understanding of API, REST, webhooks and logs is required Strong coding skills in at least one of these languages: Java, JavaScript, PHP, Python, Go, C# Excellent communication skills, ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external parties Ability to work in a customer-focused and target-driven environment Good in speaking and writing in English, Cantonese and Mandarin Nice To Have Payments industry exposure with an understanding of the related rules and regulations and payments schemes as well as security protocols related to payments Understanding of end-to-end payment flow Experience with 3DS, Network Tokenisation, Apple/Google Pay, or fraud‑risk engines Familiarity with PSD2/PSD3/PSR, FCA, ISO-8583 Experience with Node.js, React is a plus Knowledge in iOS/Android is a plus Former engineering, developer, or product background We create the conditions for high performers to thrive – through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one.
