(Senior) Backend Engineer

Role Overview We are seeking a talented and driven Backend Engineer to join our Engineering Team in Hong Kong. In this role, you will provide engineering support across all Animoca Brands projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable, and high-performance backend solutions. You will play a key part in designing, developing, and maintaining the backend infrastructure that powers our diverse portfolio of blockchain games and digital platforms. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs for multiple Animoca Brands projects. Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality features and enhancements. Ensure the scalability, reliability, and security of backend services. Optimize and refactor existing codebases for performance and maintainability. Integrate with cloud services (AWS, RDS, Redis, Postgres) and manage cloud infrastructure as needed. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues across various projects. Write clean, well-documented, and testable code. Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in backend development and cloud services. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. Strong backend engineering skills with hands-on experience in Node.js , PHP, Spring, and Scala. Proficiency in cloud services : AWS, Postgres, RDS, Redis. Experience with Golang and Python is highly desirable. Solid understanding of RESTful API design, microservices architecture, and database management. Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines is a plus. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Passion for blockchain, gaming, and digital innovation is a plus.
