Learning and Engagement Officer (School & Youth), Hong Kong Palace Museum The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases the exquisite artefacts from Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7,800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations. This is a fixed‑term contract position of 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. You Will Be Responsible For Assisting the Museum’s Learning and Engagement Team to support the development and implementation of exhibition projects, learning and public engagement programmes; Assisting the Learning and Engagement Team to study visitors; evaluating exhibitions and education-related programmes at the Museum; Contributing to the development of educational contents, such as family guides, training materials and resources in collaboration with the Museum’s Curatorial Department, educators and other partners; Contributing proactively and creatively to the planning and implementation of the Museum’s public engagement and community outreach initiatives, including but not limited to developing strong partnerships with schools and community organisations, organising tours, workshops and programmes for students, family, and other community groups; Assisting with the recruitment and training volunteer guides; and Performing any duties from time to time as reasonably as assigned by HKPM. You Should Possess a recognised university degree, preferably an MA in education, art education, museum studies, history, arts, design or equivalent; Preferably have 2 years of relevant experience in learning, interpretation, or public engagement programmes in art, cultural, or educational sectors; Possess the ability to work across the whole range of audiences and act as a bridge between the Museum and the public; Have strong skills in content development, such as brochures and other educational resources; Be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and familiar with new technologies, including online and on‑site digital learning platforms that facilitate discovery and learning of the Museum’s rich offerings – a plus; Be a collaborative team player; have excellent ability and proactive attitude to work under pressure to meet deadlines and manage multiple complex educational projects concurrently; Be familiar with the museum world or the education scene in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia – a plus; Preferably be familiar with the DSE syllabus; and Possess good interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese; knowledge of Cantonese and Putonghua is an advantage.
