Responsibilities Conduct enhanced due diligence on high‑risk client onboarding requests, including identification and assessment of financial crime risks, reputational risks, and plausibility and corroboration of source of wealth. Liaise confidently with front‑office staff, KYC teams and business line colleagues to coordinate assessments and provide final decisions. Conduct enhanced due diligence on newly higher‑risk clients at least quarterly, reviewing account activities and assessing any emerging financial crime or reputational risks. Communicate decisions to Business Heads regarding whether relationships can be retained or terminated amid changes in risk level, in a structural and detailed manner. Provide subject‑matter‑expert advice to Business on financial crime topics arising at onboarding and throughout the client life‑cycle. Review the execution of financial crime policies and procedures at various stages of the client life‑cycle to ensure adherence to applicable KYC and financial crime due‑diligence standards. Report findings and follow them through to resolution. Work within the financial crime team and the business to deliver on strategic projects and commitments. Team & Location You’ll be working in the DDO team mainly in Hong Kong, with possible assignments in other APAC locations. Good understanding of compliance issues and the private banking industry. General knowledge of AML regulations in key Asian jurisdictions, including Hong Kong and Singapore; additional compliance knowledge is a plus. Collaborative approach to achieving goals, initiative, active information sharing, and willingness to undertake a variety of roles within the Financial Crime team. Ability to build and sustain strong relationships with business staff, management, and colleagues locally, regionally, and globally. Good Microsoft Office skills; knowledge of monitoring systems is a plus. Critical thinking and an independent mindset to challenge the status quo. Reliability and resilience; able to handle challenging situations and conversations. Fluency in English and Mandarin.
