Teacher of Biology (Potential Head of Science) IB MYP DP Are you passionate about inspiring young minds? We’re looking for a dedicated Teacher of Biology (Potential Head of Science) to create engaging, hands‑on learning experiences. The successful candidate will be expected to teach and support MYP and DP pupils as required within the Science Department. As a Malvern College teacher, the postholder will play a full role in the school’s curricular, co‑curricular and pastoral programmes. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with IB Curriculum Coordinators to deliver the MYP and DP programmes effectively. Plan and deliver differentiated lessons in relevant subject areas. Foster collaborative learning and create inquiry-based classrooms that develop critical thinking. Select resources and digital tools to enhance learning experiences. Develop assessment tasks and provide timely feedback to support student progress. Communicate professionally with students, parents, and colleagues. Write personalized progress reports for parents. Provide pastoral support as needed and contribute to Tutor and House systems. Participate in school events, Parents' Meetings, and professional development. Engage in the school's co‑curricular and admissions processes. Requirements Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant subject area; A recognised teaching qualification for the required age range (e.g. B.Ed., PGCE). Suitable for NQT. Ideally, two years’ teaching experience in secondary years education. Previous experience of teaching the IB MYP and/or DP is preferred, although outstanding candidates without prior IB experience will be considered.
