Lead - Site Reliability Engineer, Payments The role responsibilities and expectations include: Key Responsibilities This role is responsible for the leadership of Production Engineering technology. Ensure the highest service quality and stability by responding to technical incidents quickly and effectively, and driving change through continuous service improvement. Lead CCIB top-level initiatives, such as FMEA (failure mode impact analysis) / blameless RCA, monitoring enhancements. Maintain real‑time understanding of critical payment service journeys with strong functional & technical knowledge. Own knowledge management: document solutions, automation opportunities, preventive measures, fully tracked until closed. Tap into latest industry trends, innovative products & solutions to deliver effective and faster product capabilities. Support CASH Management Operations to streamline processes, enhance productivity, reduce risk, and improve controls. Collaborate with Payments Business, Country technology and operations teams to ensure system stability meets client expectations. Advocate operational improvements, process efficiencies and a zero‑touch agenda; interface with other SCB systems for collaborative delivery. Train Level‑1 & Level‑2 resources; organize training sessions. Participate in cross‑training and knowledge‑transfer activities within support teams. Demonstrate exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct. Embed the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct across Standard Chartered Bank. Collaboratively identify, elevate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters. Serve in leadership capacities such as Director of the Board and exercise delegated authorities in accordance with Articles of Association (or equivalent). Qualifications & Experience Minimum 15 years of experience in a development and Site Reliability Engineering role, with several years as an SRE lead an advantage. Strong technical background in Java, Microservices, Spring Boot. Proficient with Java / Spring Boot, Kafka Streams, REST, JSON, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra, and ELK stack. Ability to work with geographically dispersed and highly varied stakeholders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience managing senior stakeholders and top management. Knowledge of JIRA and Confluence tools is desired.
